The National City Park Apartments is a low to moderate income apartment community owned by the San Diego County Building Trades Council Family Housing Corporation. Built in 1968 with funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the San Diego County Building and Construction Trades Council owns, operates and maintains this apartment community
through its San Diego County Building Trades Council Family Housing Corporation dba National City Park Apartments. When the last HUD backed loans were repaid, the Board voted unanimously to maintain National City Park Apartments as affordable housing for low to moderate income families. The Board has also began exploratory planning for additional units for veterans housing.
This apartment community houses approximately 700 adults and 1000 children. Since 1986 an average of 50% of the residents have vacated to become first time homeowners. This community is an example of the continued commitment to the community by the San Diego County Building Trades Council.
